The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery established. OGCS(Obstetrics and Gynecology Cooperative System ) in operation. |

Children's Hospital and Research Institute opened. The 10th anniversary ceremony held. The center received certification as a WHO Collaborating Centre (first in Japan for maternal and child health). |

Japanese Research Structure approved (Research Institute). |

Complete inauguration of Osaka Medical Center with total of 363 beds (all wards in full operation). |

Opening of the Family House, an accommodation for families of children with chronic diseases. |

The 20th Anniversary symposium, entitled "Nurture", held at Toga Civic Hall. |

Patient's Charter (These are your rights) was issued. ESCO project financed by private business funds adapted to the center. |

Osaka Prefectual Hospital Organization established and the center has become “Osaka Prefectual Hospital Organization, Osaka Medical Center and Research Institute for Maternal and Child Health”. |
